Skills Development Scotland - lowland and upland Scotland

The responsibility for the National Training Programmes transferred from Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise to The Skills Development Scotland (SDS) on 1 April 2008. You may therefore see reports or case studies on this site which include a reference to Scottish Enterprise activity prior to 1 April 2008.

There are a variety of options open to you to develop your skills. You can apply to do a course at college or university, or you might want to undertake one of a number of training programmes supported by The Skills Development Scotland (SDS).

Four programmes are delivered by SDS and its partners, which can help you get into a job - or improve your job skills. All involve work-based training or placements as well as support from training providers. Find out more on these national training programmes.

You may also wish to contact your local Careers Scotland Centre to talk through your options. Call 0845 8 502 502 to find out more.
