Helping MyWay Digital Health expand into the Middle East

MyWay Digital Health was looking to identify new markets for its business in the Middle East. We helped the company explore the market and connect with potential customers.

Support from the Scottish Enterprise Research Service has helped MyWay Digital Health (MWDH) to identify significant interest in its product in the Middle East.

The University of Dundee spin out is pioneering a digital health application aiming to transform diabetes care globally through their low-cost, data-driven online self-management platform.

Identifying markets

After working with our researcher Clare, CEO Debbie Wake says “high level statistics around population size and GDP have helped us examine and compare the potential impact and opportunity.

“Clare has also produced more granular research to help us target specific potential customers in a region. For example identifying top grossing healthcare organisations and insurers in particular areas.

“In addition to work on international priorities, Clare has helped with some specific requests in relation to potential partners and buyers and has helped us to make some critical decision about the business.”

Account team working

Working closely with the wider MWDH account team, Clare was able to assess investment trends for similar companies over the last couple of years.

Account manager Graeme Clark says “Clare took part in an international strategy workshop and provided valuable input that helped the company identify the research required for its target markets.

“Following this MWDH were able to quantify the size of the opportunities in the Middle East, particularly Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.”

Unlocking Ambition

MWDH took part in the 2018-19 Unlocking Ambition fast-track programme led by Scottish Enterprise. This provided the initial opportunity to connect with the research service.

The world-class Scottish Government funded scheme is vital for providing tailored support and funding to companies in order to deliver significant economic and social growth.

Global opportunities

The company is currently fundraising to generate the resources needed to make the most of these exciting new opportunities.

It has over 40,000 people registered in Scotland, and its aim is to expand its success in the UK and globally.
